Jobsite Personal Profile - What is it?
I'm a "believer"
Music
My 60's/70's favourites include the Stones, Queen, Supertramp, Pink Floyd and I loved growing up during the SKA & Punk Era. Loved the 80's/90's music but there is far too much to list (Sting is probably my favourite). At the moment I play things like Coldplay, Travis and Scissor sisters on my Ipod.
Funniest thing I've done
Crikey...many. I once strapped a racehorse to a bath which was outside a farmhouse I was visiting when were growing up in Africa. I only went in for a quick breakfast but the horse was having none of it. The horse and the bath were last seen in the distance behind a trail of dust. I was nicknamed "Bath boy" by the farm workers ever since.
Movies
Out of Africa and Titanic are my favourite all-time movies.
Television
I can't stand soap...which is weird coz I used to love Eastenders. My favourite TV programmes are normally David Attenborough Wildlife films, History programmes and I will never ever forget two classic series...Roald Dahl's "Tales of the unexpected" is one and the other is Michael Palin's "Ripping Yarns"...brilliant.
The last thing made me laugh
My little boy Nathan...he's only two but makes me laugh everyday.
Books
My most recent book was "Africa House" by Christina Lamb. As I used to live in Zambia it was a compelling read. The most gripping book for me was "Some other rainbow" by John McCarthy.
Favourite Websites
Too many to list but I like Boreme.com, BBC.co.uk and Formula1.com.
3 things the person next to me doesn't know
- I once had a scary moment watching a NASA rocket blow up just after leaving the launchpad.
- I retired before the age of 30 and lived on a beach in Tanzania.....I'm back out of retirement now of course.
- I've jumped out of an aeroplane at 14,000 feet....twice!!
Food
Crazy about good Indian food
What I'd do if I won the lottery
Life's been good to me....so.....I'd give it away to Wildlife Aid. Really lovely people...really lovely cause.
