Sweet Mutterings

Cheryl's Profile

General info - interests, etc.

Where to start? I'm 22 and a Leo (best star sign by far!). I went to Bournemouth Uni and graduated in 2005. I've just bought a house which is by far the scariest (and most expensive) thing I have ever done. Very exciting as well though. Without sounding like a bad dating advert I enjoy socialising with my friends, going to the cinema, eating out, drinking & dancing, shopping, eating chocolate, walking my dog & going to the gym. To be honest I don't always enjoy the last thing but I do try to go a lot, well as often as I can, well at least once a week!

Music

My musical tastes are pretty eclectic (oh get me & my fancy words!) I like things from the Foo Fighters, to Jack Johnson, Kanye West, Green Day, John Legend, Lenny Kravitz, Matchbox 20, No Doubt, Hard-Fi, Artic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs...the list goes on. I have also been known to listen to some far more cheesy tunes. My car has Radio 1 on most of the time & I am one of those weird people you see at traffic lights in the car by themselves laughing out loud.

There's one band that I love and will do so for eternity & that's Bon Jovi. People can laugh as much as they like but I got into them when I was about 12 and I think everyone should have something from their youth, it keeps me young. In a similar vein I also quite like Guns & Roses, Aerosmith etc but I'd like to point out that I've never had a poodle perm or a mullet!

Funniest thing I've done

You'd be better off asking my friends and colleagues this. I do unfortunately have quite a few blonde moments.

A recent example - I was getting really frustrated that my computer wasn't working and I was closing windows and pressing numerous buttons. I was just about to put a distress call into the IT department when I realised that my lunch plate was pressing on the space bar and this is what was causing the problem, d'oh!

Movies

I am such a girl when it comes to films but I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing. To me the classics are movies such as Dirty Dancing (no-one puts Baby in the corner), Pretty Woman, Ghost, The Bodyguard, The Green Mile & Bridget Jones.

I haven't seen hardly any of the films that are always rated the best movies of all time, except maybe more recent ones like the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I also have an awful habit of falling asleep during films which is why I've missed out on other supposed great ones like The Usual Suspects.

Last film I saw at the cinema was Brokeback Mountain, which was really good but I do think it's getting a bit over-hyped now.

Television

When I was at Uni I was a TV addict as it was a break from dissertations and essays but now I hardly watch any.

I do like Friends & Desperate Housewives though. I started to watch Lost and loved it but after I missed a couple of episodes I stopped watching and thought I'd catch up on DVD but I'm still waiting to buy/borrow it. Big fan of Location, Location, Location - Kirstie & Phil rock and I'm also quite partial to trashy/reality shows such as 10 Years Younger, What Not to Wear, Big Brother etc. Certain documentaries are interesting too. Will watch pretty much anything to be honest.

The last thing made me laugh

A clever person once said that 'without laughter life is meaningless', I couldn't agree more and therefore it's quite hard to remember the last actual thing that made me laugh.

I do tend to laugh a lot at work as the marketing bunch are funny people. Sometimes I laugh with them and sometimes at them. I also laugh at myself when I do stupid things (see funniest thing I've done for an example)

Books

I'm coming across as a really fluffy girl here but I love a bit of chick lit. Favourite authors are probably Jane Green, Sophie Kinsella, Jill Mansell & Arabella Weir. I don't read as much as I should, I tend to flick through magazines when at home but I read loads on beach holidays.

Favourite Websites

Glamourmagazine.co.uk/dailygossip
I love a bit of celebrity gossip, it would be my specialist subject on Mastermind!
Cheapsmells.com
Sounds awful but does great brand toiletries and I spend a fortune on these so a fab site for me
Choccywoccydoodah.com
Perfect for chocoholics
Doughdough.com or tiffany.com/uk
If anyone wants to buy me a present!

3 things the person next to me doesn't know

My vital statistics (and they never will!)

How many piercings I have (5)

My worst injury (slipping on ice and breaking my shoulder, I have never felt pain like it)

Food

I think it's quite obvious by now that I like chocolate! In fact I like most food, I especially love Italian. The only foods that I can think of that I don't like are cucumber (it should only be used to ease the bags under your eyes) & sprouts (why do shops still stock them, they taste gross and make people's bottoms smell!)

What I'd do if I won the lottery

I'd have a wonderful time.

It depends how much I won. If it was loads I'd buy a house or three, I'd make sure my family & friends were ok. I'd go on lots of holidays, maybe shopping in NY (I went at Christmas and loved it) and a sunny vacation somewhere like the Dominican Republic. I'd shop a lot. I'd buy shares in Cadbury's.

Seriously though I wouldn't want to win stupid amounts as I think it can bring more harm than it's worth.
