Fired - but fizzling out
I was sacked very unfairly in December last year, it's first time I have had ANY blemish on my CV, but I am finding it extremely difficult to get another job, especially when they are informed that I was sacked for gross misconduct.
I have lots of experience and feathers in my cap but am unsure where to go now?
help!

If you believe you were sacked unfairly have you raised a grievance against your ex-employers and threatened to take this to a tribunal?

I have just been sacked for not producing enough sales, I know how you feel, put it behind you. If you firmly believe you have done nothing wrong you will find something else like I will. None of us are perfect let the one without sin throw the first stone, who do these people think they are?!

Unless you work in a very tight knit sector where competitors know other companies well, you don't have to reveal that you were sacked. Certainly it shouldn't be mentioned on your CV. Tribunals are fine if you win, but they hold you back from getting on with your life and you may gain a reputation as a 'problem' employee. If the employment period was short with your last employer, you can just comment in interview that things didn't work out - it happens!

Much the same happened to me in November last year. I am now reduced to menial temporary jobs and fear that as time passes so will the opportunity for me to get back in to the main stream of things. The difficulty I find is explaining the underlying reasons satisfactorily either on the telephone or at interview. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Ive been sacked from five jobs in five years and im still getting good jobs. This is because I tell emplyers Ive been in contract only roles. Where job hunting is concerned, there are no rules. Lie, lie and lie again.
Whats the worst that could happen?
