Access to Training & Development roles

Hi guys,

Having done some years in the armed forces and then moved onto production work, I have found myself in Retail for the last 8 years and now want to get out. I enjoy and want to get into Training & Development but have no qualifications in that area, despite doing it in every role I have ever had. Additionally, I can't get time away from work to do a course.

Suggestions please!

Start applying for jobs! Don't float your CV out to everything, sended targeted CV's and Application forms for roles advertised.

Create a CV which thoroughly ephasises your L & D background, but always personalise it to each job you are applying for.

Research the standards body CIPD here: http://www.cipd.co.uk/default.cipd

Good luck

Hi,
Try joining the CIPD as an associate member, you will then be allowed to attend local branches free of charge to attend the talks. This is going to improve your knowledge in the field; it worked for me.These meetings are usually after 6 in evening so you can manage to go there after your work.

Thanks.
