How do I resign? - advice from Karren Brady
I want to resign from my job and I've never written a resignation letter before. Do I explain why I want to leave (that could get to sound a bit bitter) or should I just state the obvious. I'm actually going to a rival company and I know it won't be accepted with good grace but I'd rather explain in writing than have to explain myself in person.
Keep your resignation letter simple. You have no obligations to give the reason for resigning.
If you are asked to attend an exit interview and you want to explain your departure then that is the appropriate time to do so.
However, you have no obligation to attend an exit interview so you don't have to if you don't want to...
