Teaching Today

I am a second year English teacher earning around £23,000 a year at the moment, but the salary goes up every year up to £32,000.

But what other job could i do with a similar paypacket? I'm fed up with the dreadful behaviour of students and lack of support from management, and at the age of 50 I'm not sure I'd be accepted for retraining?

Why don't you work on becoming a private tutor, give yourself a two year plan, start off part-time, to see how things develop. Or, I think you can work for organisations that get you the work. My daughter has a private tutor to help her with GCSE English and Maths. £25/hr. and her tutor can't fit anybody else in.
